I use the term approximate because yarns vary considerably. but these are good guidelines to use when selectings fibers for your projects.. Some yarns can be interchanged.. which means their sizes are similiar.. Fingering and Baby Weight Yarns can be used in projects calling for either size.. and Lace Weight is thinner than Fingering size.. Note that DK weight (a European term) in the thicker end of the sport weight category. And Chunky is a category used for yarns between Worsted and Bulky. .
