Founded in 1999 by CEO Alec Peters, Auctionworks quickly became the leading provider of online marketplace management software and services for high volume eBay sellers.
To enhance the development of Auctionworks' product, we recruited and signed 28 of the top 50 sellers on eBay in early 2000 and created 'The Auctionworks Founders Club'. These elite sellers, which included two of the first ever 'Shooting Stars' on eBay (10,000 plus feedback), provided valuable insight which led to the development of many of the innovative features and functionality found in today's product.
With the help of the Founders Club and a staff of experienced eBay professionals, Auctionworks became the first company to develop fixed-price storefronts with integrated eBay item checkout, automatic cross-sell at checkout, combined shipping for multiple purchases, automated eBay final value fee collection and integration to international eBay marketplaces. Auctionworks is now fully localized for eBay sites in Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia.
In early 2001, Auctionworks became one of the first companies to earn the designation of eBay Preferred Solution Provider (PSP). As an eBay PSP, we work very closely with eBay to develop new programs, enhancements, and other improvements that are designed to further the 'eBay Community'.
Auctionworks counts over 15 enterprise-level customers including, The Home Depot, Genco, Disney Auctions LLC, Olympus Camera and over 2,000 small and medium sized businesses as customers. Additionally, with over 100 eBay 'Shooting Stars' (more than all of our competitors combined) Auctionworks is the solution of choice for the largest sellers on eBay.
Today, our product launches over 2,000,000 items each month to online marketplaces and facilitates the sale of nearly $20 million worth of merchandise for our customers. Additionally, Auctionworks enjoys the distinction of being one of a few eBay PSPs to achieve profitability while maintaining over 60% employee ownership.
