There are so many methods of tying a sarong that it can be quite mind boggling!
Sure there are many websites "out there" that provide suggestions (even videos) but you can't take your computer with you to the beach. Then again, maybe you can... But is it really a holiday then?
Perhaps you enjoy wearing sarongs so much that you would rather sew a few for yourself and your friends? If you have any favorite ways/ideas you care to share, submissions are always welcome.

# 1 Beach Skirt Sarong
Simply wrap around the waist once and tie the extension tips in a knot at the waist to fit. It seems to look best when worn rather loosely to one side so that the knot drops low from the waist.
# 2 Day Wear Sarong Skirt
If the sarong is large enough, it may be wrapped around twice and tied as above. This would help create better coverage for a sheer fabric or to make the sarong wearable as a "regular" skirt that could even be worn at the office. Mini SkirtMidi SkirtAnkle Length SkirtFloor Length Skirt
# 3 Halter Style Dress or Top
Hold the sarong centered high up across the back as though it was a large towel. Bring ties to front, crisscross the ends across high chest in an "X" and then tie the tips at back of neck. This gives a "Marilyn Munroe" look. Halter Dress
# 4 Twist Style Dress or Top
Hold the sarong centered high up across the back as though it was a large towel. Bring ties to front, crisscross the ends across high chest in an "X" twice. This will give the ties a "pretzel twist" around each other at the front. Take the ties to the back of neck and tie. Twist Dress
# 5 Sweetheart (Strapless) Style
Hold the sarong centered high up across the back as though it was a large towel. Knot at ties at center front, pulling the ties straight up and down to even the slack. Knot again as double knot, pull ties down or tuck them in. This gives a "sweet heart" neckline effect. Strapless Sweetheart
# 6 Sweetheart Style
Hold the sarong centered high up across the back as though it was a large towel. Knot at center front, pulling the ties straight up and down to even the slack in a single knot. Take the ties straight up and tie around the back of the neck. This gives a "sweet heart" neckline effect with straps. Sweetheart + Straps
# 7 Top Skirt Set
Wear two, one as a top and one as a skirt! Top/Skirt set
General Tips
~ Allow the knot to drop low from the waist and to the side in the skirt style for a more slimming look.
~ Give the knot an extra "flip" at the back of the neck, this helps tighten up the slack and gives a smoother look.
~ A short sarong may also be worn as a top and wrapped as the above styles. Just be sure to get a larger sarong to allow for the twists.
